Art is one of the most prominent aspects of culture, it enriches the lives of many, has given writers, musicians, painters and filmmakers alike inspiration for many years. But, one thing that it has always been perceived as a visual entity that only those with vision can enjoy.
Now, in the year 2013 it gives me immeasurable joy and delight to announce that finally visually impaired people will have their own equivalent of renowned art show Frieze.
The Touch Art Fair is a revolutionary new event that is due to pen its doors to London from Thursday 17th of October to Sunday 20th October. The event will be where artists come together to exhibit their artwork and where the public can come and enjoy it. But, with a major difference, this art fair will juxtapose the mantra supported my many conservative art shows which is of course “PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH!’
Instead, the art fair will be a completely tactile art show, full of artwork that will have both a visual and a tactile aspect to it. Making the event pleasing to both the senses of touch and the eye.
Artist exhibiting at this event will include Jake and Dinos Chapman, Abigail Burt, Nendie Pinto-Duschinsky and many others. Artworks will include a tactile image of the world famous Mona Lisa and a tactile portrait of myself and guide dog Unity painted by the wonderful Nendie Pinto-Duschinsky.

i myself and honoured to not only be attending the private showing of this event, but also to be a part of the first ever exhibition. The event promises to be one of the highlights of the VI Culture year and I cannot wait to get through those doors and get blogging!
