Welcome back to Fashioneyesta!
And a huge congratulations to anyone who completed the London marathon on Sunday.
Today I wanted to tell you of something very exciting that has happened, well two things in fact, the first is tho say that that was the day that I finally gave in my beloved, loathed dissertation. it was a love hate relationship, but alas I will miss the many evenings we spent together…it is very complicated.
The second was to announce that today I received the wonderful news that i had been offered a place to study a Masters degree Children’s Literature at Goldsmiths University. As many of you may know if you know me personally or have been following my blog or YouTube channel for a while i am extremely passionate about literature and books. When I was younger i always found myself delving into the world of a new story written by Derek Landy, Neil Gaiman, Micael Morpurgo and many others. To this day I still adore literature and am a huge advocate of making literature accessible for people with sight loss as you may recall from a video I filmed (which is featured below.)
Despite my disability I have always remained determined to achieve my goals in life and help others see that disability is not a barrier. In 2012 I qualified with my first Guide Dog (which you can see in the image above) by the name of Unity and I regularly write, blog and campaign on all things disability and have done charity work for charities such as the RNIB, Guide Dogs and Blind Children UK. That was the year I also began writing this blog and have continued to make videos and blogs in which my goals is to break down barriers surrounding disability/
But now I am calling on you for your help, my dream is to continue my studies and to obtain a Masters Degree in Children’s Literature. I have been accepted to study my Masters Degree at my current University, however if I do not receive the funds to finance my studies my fear is that this dream will not become a reality.
Being disabled I of course have my good days and bad days and thus I have found it difficult to work in order to source the funds in order to be able to study.
I am trying to raise £4,200 and have already raised £625 on my page.
So, I would be eternally grateful to you if you could find it in you to give a small donation to help me achieve my goals in life. Even if you are only able to share this page so that others can see it any kind of support you are able to give me would mean the absolute world to me.
Please help me to stay in University, so that one day I will be able to write books for children and campaign with charities to raise awareness of diversity to our future children so that we can help build a better and more kinder world.
Thanking you very kindly for your support!
