My Weekend Evening Pamper Routine

Greetings Readers!

Now what with the advancing Autumn months when nights will soon be getting darker and with the TV series starting up again I’m sure many of you will be getting out your bath products, face masks and favourite books to enjoy a little pamper routine especially on a weekend.

So I thought i’d share with you guys my current pamper routine and what my pamper essentials are currently.

I’ll be talking you through everything from skincare, haircare, far masks, bath products and some other little things I like to do along the way.

So, why don’t you grab yourself a face mask (or make one perhaps its not to difficult to do) get comfy and sink your teeth into this blog if it so takes your fancy.

Watch The Video

I also filmed a video of my paper routine which you can watch below.

The first thing I like to do is to set up my bathroom with some scented candles and tea lights in little lanterns to create a calming and relaxing mood. I used the Vanilla Ice Cream Tea Lights from Ikea as they have a soft sweet scent and being that I have sight loss I do really love to incorporate scent into my pamper evenings.

The next thing I like to do is to have a large glass of ice cold water (or sometimes a hot drink like tea or hot chocolate) with me so that I can keep hydrated whilst pampering myself. Although if your a bit hungover I’d recommend something that pumps minerals and vitamins back into your body like a juice of some description.

I also like to have all of my products laid out ready to use in a wicker basket just so I don’t have to go back and fourth to the cupboard to get what I want.

The next thing I usually tend to do is to run a bath and sometime I’ll use a bath oil or bath milk. But, I do often like to use a Lush Bath Bomb and the one I used on this occasion was the Golden Slumbers bath bomb from Lush which is made with Lavender and Camomile to create a calm and dreamy atmosphere perfect to use after a long, stressful day.

Then I usually start on my haircare routine and the begin I use the Lush Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Ease treatment which is made with Red Henna, Olive Oil, Brazil Nut Oil and Wheatgerm Oil to soften and condition the hair. The henna in this is perfect for conditioning the hair and for enhancing the natural pigment of your hair especially if you have red hair.

Whilst my bath is running I then use the B Pure Miscellar Water which is PH balancing, made with cucumber, fragrance free and dermatologically tested. I use this with a cotton pad to take of my make up and I find its very gentle and helps to keep my skin feeling healthy.

I then use the Sumptuous Camomile Cleansing Butter from the Body Shop to cleanse and moisturise my skin. The camomile makes this great for lots of different skin types and I like it because it leaves my skin feeling cleansed and sooth but not as it its bee stripped of its natural oils. I apply that by moisturising a small amount onto my skin, taking time to rub in circular motions. After massaging it into my skin for a minute or so I then remove it with a warm damp face cloth to open up the pores.

Then I use the Lush Mint Julips Scrub to scrub away any dead skin from my lips made with sugar, vanilla, peppermint and jojoba oil. I absolutely love the scent of this, it smells rather like a mint chocolate, its so sweet and refreshing to use on your lips. Be warned you will want to eat it!

For me a pamper evening would not be a pamper evening without a face mask and the one I like to use is the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Face Mask. This face mask is a very deeply clarifying face mask, the charcoal and white clay draws out any impurities that our skin is subjected too from things like pollution, makeup and everyday grime.

Then when my bath is full I will get into the embrace of the water. I currently love using the Body shop Spa of the World African Ximena Scrub. The Ximena oil helps to moisturise and nourish the skin by putting natural oils back into the skin. I absolutely adore it and the scent is a very sweet and floral scent.

During a pamper routine I also think its important to take care of our feet to keep them looking and feeling their best. I love to use the Lush Stepping Stone Foot Scrub which I got in a Lush Spa gift set and alas it is no longer available at Lush which i am devastated about. But, to give you an idea it is made with peppermint and is shaped into a foot pumice and its perfect for revitalising tired soles.

Then back onto my hair I wash my hair using the Ogx Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner made with the protein of egg whites and the coconut milk leaving your hair feeling conditioned and weightless. i would recommend these to anyone with long or very thick hair like myself.

Then back into my bedroom I light some more candles and the one I have a particular fondness for currently is the Jo Malone Sweet Almond and Macaroon Candle. It is a wonderfully sweet aroma smelling like fresh, sweet baking.

I like to use a toning water to get rid of any impurities and to help balance my skin. The one I like in particular is the Lush Eau Roma Water made with Lavender and Rose water to balance and soften the skin.

I also like to use a moisturiser of some description, on this occasion my skin was feeling a little bit dry so I used the Origins Drink Up intensive Overnight Mask made with fruit extracts Advocado Oil, Apricot Kernal Oil and Japanese Seaweed to moisturise and condition the skin.

I also tend to use an eye mask to help moisturise the skin around the orbital bone and under eye area as the eyes can get quite fatigued and a pamper routine is all about reducing dark circles and the damage that a hard week has inflicted.

The one i like to use is a L’Occitane Eye Care and Mask Duo which helps to bright the area around the eyes and moisturise the skin. It is used with a metal applicator which is perfect for sore, aggravated eyes.

I dab this in with my ring finger to the under eye area and the orbital bone and I personally would also recommend an early night and no caffeine if you want to get ultimate results to combat puffy, dull eyes.

Then I condition my lips using the Lush Whipstick lip balm which is the ultimate lip balm for any chocolate lovers out there as you guessed it it smells like chocolate, or a chocolate orange to be precise. Made with Cocoa, Sweet Orange Oil and Vanilla this sweet smelling lip balm adds moisture back to the lips and has a wonderfully sweet scent.

To moisturise my body I usually use one of my Laura Mercier Body Souffle and the one I personally like is the Crème de Pistache Soufflé Body Crème its a very sweet nutty scent and the creams themselves are very rich and moisturising in consistency.

I also like to roughly blow dry my hair just to give it a little bit of body.

Screen Shot 2015-08-30 at 13.31.46

Then I usually make myself a cup of tea…Twinings Everyday Tea of course.

Screen Shot 2015-08-30 at 13.32.18

I then put on an audiobook.

Screen Shot 2015-08-30 at 13.32.40

And settle down with my laptop, my guide dog and my tea to enjoy a peaceful evening to myself.
