A Sincere Thank You

Greetings Readers!

The last few days have been utterly awe inspiring and I feel that it warrants me making a blog post about it.

A few days ago a blog that I wrote for the Huffington Post was launched for the Fashion For All Campaign, a campaign to raise awareness of diversity in fashion.

In my article I talked about what its like being a fashion blogger with a visual impairment and I cannot begin to tell you what an incredible response it has had. So many people have liked, shared, tweeted and promoted it on their sites, profiles and pages and I have received a torrent of kind messages from people far and wide telling me how amazing they think my work is and how grateful they are that someone with a visual impairment is trying to make a difference in promoting that disability doesn’t define you.

But, it is I who should be offering the thanks, I know I have said it before but this time I want to really stress how grateful I am that you all take the time to comment, send me messages and long notes about my work and how much blogs have made you laugh, smile, have helped your friends understand you’re disability or even just help you know what trends are in for the season.

It means such a great deal to me when I open my emails or look through my comments to find yet another lovely comment from another one of you amazing individuals. You are all genuinely the most wonderful, kind heart, funny, intelligent and supportive people i have ever come across. Each day I value my blog and the people it has connected me with even more. To think that my blog has helped me meet so many people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise. I truly feel as if through my blog I have gained a whole online extended family and its a family that I treasure.

You’ve helped me through so much, you offered your congratulations when I graduated, you stood along side me when I faced my first ‘Internet Troll’ and you continue to support me every day even with a simple like of my videos, a like on my blog or by sending me a tweet.

You’re comments are what inspired me each day to write more blogs, make more videos and tweet more tweets. Never forget that each day when I write my blogs and study my masters with hopes of becoming a scholar in the representation of disability in Children’s Literature i am doing it purely because I want to make an improvement and positive impact on your lives. If I were in a fairy tale I don’t believe i’d be cast as the fair Princess or the evil stepmother, I’d sooner be the fairy godmother who could make things better with a more swish of my magic wand and by uttering a few mere words.

I love the work I do and the support from all of you is what makes it even more worthwhile.

I honestly couldn’t do it without you.

You are all incredibly wonderful and never forget that.

  1. Without sounding too cheesy, you really are one of the most inspiring people I’ve had the pleasure to meet. You’ve achieved so much (a lot more than I have, that’s for sure) and have overcome a lot by the sound of it. Well done Emily! x
