A Little Pixi Beauty Skincare Haul

Greetings Readers!

Welcome back to fashioneyesta.com!

I hope all of my readers are well and prospering. Well Spring has officially arrived, if you can call rain lashing against the window pain and cold winds Spring. But, being a Brit spring always seems to be a little bit of a hit and miss to begin with. For me, Spring resembles the April showers scene from Disney’s Bambi. However, I am not going be be like a stereotypical Brit and complain about the weather (although I just did). No, today I am here to talk one of my favourite topics and that is skincare.

For me, I think its worth spending time and money finding the right products for your skin and taking care of it. Protecting your skin against UV rays, properly cleansing your skin and keeping it hydrated are all part and parcel of keeping your skin healthy. Your skin is the largest organ of your body and it deserves to be treated and pampered, so that it doesn’t resemble the dry, cracked craters of Mars in later years.

Lately I’ve been wanting to revamp and update my skincare routine for Spring, as I have been finding that the products I have been using don’t make my skin feel and look as dewy and fresh as I would like. So, on payday last month I decided to invest in some new skincare products from Pixi.

Pixi has been a well loved beauty brand of mien for many years. The brand is cruelty free and care to the Vegan community as well. They use the best ingredients like essential oils and plant excretes to create everyday, easy skincare and makeup products.  I adore a lot of their makeup products, glow tonic and so on. However, I have not really tried any products from them lately and recently they have received lots of attention in the press and from beauty bloggers. So, I ended up leaving my local M&S (where they stock Pixi) with a few new skincare buys.

One of the first things I bought was the Pixi and Caroline Hirons collaboration Double Cleanse. Now this product has been raved about by beauty editors and bloggers alike. Finally, I caved into the hype and bought it. Caroline Hirons is a fantastic skincare and beauty blogger, who writes a very comprehensive blog all about skincare. Pixi and Caroline Hirons collaborated to release a cleansing balm. However, this cleanser is one with a difference, its a 2-in-1, double sided cleanser! The first side of the pot is the cleaning oil, which you use to remove your makeup. This oil is made with Vitamin E to protect and soften the skin, Camellia Oil to nourish the skin and Evening Primrose to Heal and balance the skin. The second side is the cleansing cream to cleanse the skin and leave it fresh and ready for the next part of your regime. This cream is made with Vitamin C to brighten and protect the skin and to promote collagen, Peptides to plum up the skin and Arginine to promote the skin cells to renew themselves. This product really caught my eye as a lot of people have been commenting on how easy it is to use and how quick it makes the task of removing your makeup.

The next product I invested in was the Pixi Glow Mist. Now I had been on the hunt for a new setting spray that will give me a dewy finish. When I was at the Pixi stand this caught my attention. This mist can be used to give your skin a dewy, fresh glow before your makeup as a prep spray, after makeup as a fixing spray and anytime to give you a fresh faced look. Its made with 13 plant extracts including Argon Oil to soften the skin, Lavender Oil to soothe, Lemon Peel Oil to brighten, Orange Oil to bring radiance, Tea Tree for oil control and Avocado to soften the skin. This product is alleged to help to set your makeup whilst preventing it form looking cakey. But, it can also be used before makeup as a prep spray. I’m very excited to try this product, as dewy skin for me is key for Spring makeup.

The third and final product that I purchased was the Pixi H20 Skindrink Hydration Gel. I was drawn to this product after using a tester of it on the back of my hand. I loved the way it made my skin look, how cooling it felt and how lightweight it was. Something I look for in skincare for the Spring/Summer months is lightweight products. I want to allow my skin to breath when the humidity and heat are changing. So, having products that allow my skin to breath is very important. This H20 Skindrink is essentially a moisturiser in gel form. Its plumping, cooling and hydrating to the skin and yet its gel formula allows it to be lightweight on the skin. Its made with Aloe Vera to soothe the skin and combat redness, Rosemary to soothe the skin and Green Tea to anti-oxidise the skin. This product is pure genius because it has the end results of a moisturiser and yet it feels like a gel. Its very refreshing on the skin and I can imagine this will soon become one of my holy grail products.
