Pixi & Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse: Review

Greetings Readers!

Welcome back to fashioneyesta.com!

Today I have a skincare review for you all, because as I’m sure you know one of my favourite things in the beauty world is skincare. After all your skin is incredibly delicate and its the first place we see signs of ageing, fatigue and stress. So its important to take care of it. Today I have a review on something I’ve been using for a number of months now and its the Pixi & Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse. Now for those of you who don’t know Caroline Hirons is a skincare blogger who is essentially the skin whisperer. She knows so much about skincare and her blog is an absolute treasure trove of information. A while back she collaborated with Pixi, one of absolutely favourite makeup and skincare brands to create the Double Cleanse.

Now before I go further I also want to add that Pixi is a cruelty free brand and this product is Vegan friendly.

The Double Cleanse is a two in one cleanser, the first side is an oil which you apply to your skin to help dissolve any makeup or filaments from your skin. The second side is a cream which helps to prep your skin for the next stages of your skincare routine as well as to deeply condition and cleanse the skin. This is the second pot I’ve bought now, so its evident that I love it!

Side 1: The Cleansing Oil

The Cleansing Oil is the first step of your cleansing routine. This oil acts to dissolve and melt away any makeup, pollutants and any excess oil in your skin. Its made with Vitamin E to soothe the skin, Evening Primrose for its healing properties and Camellia Oil to help promote the skins texture and elasticity.  I take a pea sized amount and massage it thoroughly into my skin for a few minutes. I find this particularly useful and easy if I’ve got a lot of makeup on and I want something that works quick to dissolve it. As someone who wears a lot of eye makeup, I find that a lot of cleansers don’t melt the makeup away. A lot of cleansing creams don’t contain the right compound to really work away at the makeup to leave your skin feeling clean. However, this oil does and it easily melts away the makeup from my skin so I’m ready to move onto the second step.

Side 2: The Cleansing Cream

The Cleansing Cream is the second stage of your cleansing routine. Its a blend of brightening Vitamin C and Arginine and Peptides to promote collagen in the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines. I love the cream for how soothing it is to the skin, its perfect if you suffer from dry or irritated skin. It also removes any excess makeup or pore cloggers and leaves my skin feeling clear and looking a lot brighter. I take a small amount of this and massage it into my skin, removing it with a warm flannel and then I start with the next stages of my skincare routine.

What I love about this product is that it really feels like a treatment as well as a cleanser for your skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and replenished, my skin doesn’t feel tight after using it and I’m ready to move onto toning and replemsihing my skin. I also can’t praise this product enough for how clean it leaves my skin feeling. I notice with some cleansers that I still have remnants of eye-makeup or eyeliner under my eyes afterwards or the next day. However, because this has two different types of cleansers it really makes the process of removing your makeup quick and easy. So my skin looks and feels clearer and brighter after using it. I’m not left with any panda eyes afterwards and my skin feels clean and looks visibly clear the next day. I don’t even have to use eye makeup remover beforehand with this and that’s a first!

I personally would recommend this if you live in a very busy area where care fumes and pollutants are prevalent or if you wear a lot of makeup. This Double Cleanse works a treat for makeup removal and for a quick and easy cleansing routine. The Cleansing Oil removes the makeup quickly and effectively whilst the cream soothes and calms the skin.

It’s incredibly effective and this has rocketed to the top of my skincare must haves list.
