Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser: Review *

Greetings Readers!

I hope your week is getting off to a good start?

Today I am back with a review for you all.

I was recently sent this Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser by Superdrug and today I thought I’d give you my thoughts on it. I’ve been using it in place of my usual cleanser for about a week and in that time I’ve been very impressed with it.

The cleanser retails for £4.99, so with that in mind I wanted to see how it performed next to my high-end cleansers like the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser which I have used in the path. Nothing against Liz Earle products, they are gorgeous but they are a tad more pricey. Earlier in the year I did say that I wanted to start reviewing and featuring more affordable makeup and skincare brands and I am keeping good on my promise. I have some more content going up on my YouTube channel soon featuring affordable products, so stay tuned for that if you are interested.

Anyhow lets proceed with the review, shall we?

This cleanser is part of the Vitamin E skincare range that Superdrug offer. I love Superdrug’s own skincare and makeup brands because they are very affordable and there really are some lovely products that I have discovered like the Naturally Radiant range. However, this product is the first thing I have ever used from the Vitamin E range.

Superdrug’s own range is also Vegan and cruelty free. They are a really great go to skincare brand if you are on a budget and want an easily accessible skincare brand as there is bound to be one in your local high street.

This cleanser is a rather hefty size, for £4.99 you are getting 200ml worth of product as well as a muslin cloth.

As you would gather, the cleanser is rich in Vitamin E. Vitamin E works to moisturise the skin and keep it supple.  It also contains Cocoa Butter which is very hydrating for dry skin. It has a delicate sweet scent, you can definitely smell the cocoa butter when you apply it.

If you have never used a hot cloth cleanser, they are meant to be used to remove makeup and any pore clogging inpuruties at the end of the day. The idea of it is that you take a small amount onto your hand and work it thoroughly onto your skin. Make sure to really massage it into the under eye area and then remove it with a warm dampened cloth. It works much better than using a makeup wipe and is hugely better for your skin in general. Hot cloth cleansers help to minimise blocked pores and they make for a better cleansing routine.

What I really love about this cleanser is how rich and creamy it is. Sometimes I find with other hot cloth cleansers I have used they are not “weighty” enough to really dissolve heavy eye makeup and mascara. I am an eye makeup lover and I do notice that I can be left with panda eyes even after cleansing my skin which is so frustrating. However, with this cleanser because it is a really thick consistency, it really works to melt away the makeup. It has literally halved the time I use to spend on removing my makeup which I highly approve of.

It felt very nourishing on the skin, now I don’t suffer with dry skin usually. But even I felt as if it had made an impact on the texture of my skin. It felt really smooth and even to the touch and I noticed a softer texture afterwards.

I genuinely mean this, I’m so impressed with this cleanser. I think its one of my favourite new discoveries this month and I am blown away with the quality for the price. If you are someone who wears a lot of makeup and you want a cleanser that really lifts of the makeup, you need this! I would also say it would work well for someone with dry skin on account of how moisturising it is. For £4.99 you really cannot go wrong!

If the Hot Cloth Cleanser is anything to go by, I think I’ll be trying out some more products from the range.
