Welcome back to Fashioneyesta!
I hope all of you are enjoying the start to your weekend, have some fun this weekend and enjoy yourself. But, before you embark on your adventures for the day, do stay a bit and read my latest blog with a cup of tea!
Today I’m going to be talking skincare once again. What can I say? I’m skincare obsessed! I think there’s something very satisfying about getting new lotions and potions to apply to your face.
Anyhow today I’m going to be introducing you all to a new brand to the blog. The brand is called Urban Veda, they are a skincare brand that take inspiration from nature with holistic ingredients. The brand is also cruelty free and Vegan friendly too and their products are made with natural ingredients tailored for different skin needs.
This is a brand that I have never tried before until very recently when I got sent their Sandalwood Soothing Daily Facial Wash and Soothing Day Cream to try. Urban Veda are now available at Boots stores to purchase and I was really keen to give this brand a try.
To make it easier to find the range best suited for you, Urban Veda have created the “Whats Your Dosha” quiz on their website. The quiz asks you a series of questions about your skin and your lifestyle to establish which range would compliment your skin. I think this is a really clever idea, as someone who works in the beauty industry for some people knowing their skin type is a really confusing topic.
After you take the quiz you will find out of the four ranges which one would suit you best. The ranges are Neem, Turmeric, Rose and Sandalwood, I took the quiz and it turns out that the Sandalwood range would work best for my combination skin.
The Sandalwood range is made with Sandalwood, Palmarosa and Ylang Ylang to soothe, calm and balance the skin. It is also very good for sensitive skin on account of its calming properties. I’m always on the look out for products that claim to balance the skin, as I have combination skin. My t-zone is prone to getting oily whilst the rest of my skin can get dry and dull.
The first thing I tried was the Sandalwood Daily Soothing Facial Wash. This is a daily foaming cleanser designed to remove pore cloggers and any excess grease from the skin. One thing I noticed about this range was the scent, it has a very holistic herbal scent to it with the Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang. It felt very calming on the skin and it foamed up very well even with a small amount on my hand. I really loved the way it made my skin feel after using it, it felt clean and soft without feeling dry and tight. I’ve been using it for over a week and I have noticed it seems to have made a bit of difference to my t-zone. Usually when the dreaded PMS comes knocking I get a very oily t-zone and with it the curse of the hormonal zits! But, currently I’ve only noticed one spot that has formed whereas usually I get about 4. So in my books that’s a promising start, my skin also doesn’t feel as oily and greasy as it can do at this time of the month. Yet, it instantly feels really calming and soothing on the skin when I apply it. I would say definitely have a look at this cleanser if you are in the market for a cleanser for combination skin or if you get hormonal breakouts like myself.
This Daily Soothing Facial Wash retails for £12.99.
The second product I tried was the Soothing Day Cream, alongside the Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang. This cream is also made with Aloe Vera to soothe and calm irritated skin, making this very well suited to sensitive skin. When I applied this cream I did notice it has a slightly thicker texture to the current cream I’m using. So you do have to let it sink into the skin a little bit before you apply your makeup. But, I did really like how hydrating it was for the skin and how soothing it was on my skin. When I get hormonal breakouts ny skin can get very red, tight and irritated. Especially as I have to use a lot of deeply clarifying and charcoal based masks which can really dry out my skin. So, I’ve been taking to using this after a detoxifying face mask to hydrate and soothe my skin. I really like the texture of this cream and the way it makes my skin feel so comfortable after using it.
The Soothing Day Cream retails for £18.99.
So far I have enjoyed using the products from Urban Veda and I am really intrigued to explore more of what the brand has to offer. Especially as they are cruelty free, so I will keep you updated as I try more products. I’m thinking about investing in the Night Cream and Facial Oil next.
Thank you so much for reading my blog today. Have you tried any products from Urban Veda? Let me know in the comments.
