Shea Moisture Smooth & Tame: Review *

Greetings Readers!

Welcome back to!

I hope you are all well?

I’m currently in bed with the flu, which I cannot say I’m entirely happy about. So I thought I’d pass the time by getting on with some blog posts. So here I am!

Today I have a new review for you all and it’s a new range of hair care products that I have discovered from a brand called Shea Moisture.

Now I will admit I’m not the sort of person who ever really experiments with their haircare products. But I was recently sent some products from the brand to try and today I thought I’d give you my thoughts on them.

Shea Moisture is a haircare products that makes a variety of products for different hair types. They are made without sulphates, parabens, phthalates, paraffin, mineral oil, synthetic colour and petrolatum. The range is also cruelty free.

The range that I have been trying is the Smooth & Tame range which is made with hydrating Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Almond Milk and Marshmallow Root. I have the shampoo and conditioner in the range and have been using it for a couple of weeks now. Now this range is particular focused towards fine, frizzy, straight and wavy hair types.

I personally have very fine, straight hair, but there is a lot of it and it is prone to getting tangled especially when I style it. I personally love anything with Argan Oil because it’s so rich for the hair and really locks in the moisture.

When I first used this one thing I noticed was the scent, it has a very sweet scent on account of all the ingredients like the Almond Milk and Marshmallow Root. It really coats your hair with a strong scent that you can smell for days afterwards.

It’s incredibly thick and conditioning on the hair, and lathered up very quickly. One thing I did notice when I used this was that it is quite thick on the hair so you have to be sure to wash it off very thoroughly if you have fine hair like myself. It was very easy to work though the hair and once I washed off the product my hair felt smooth to the touch.

After I dried my hair it felt so deeply conditioned and hydrated and the actual hair follicles themselves left stronger and thicker. That was one thing I really liked about this range, how thick it made my hair after using it. As I have said I have very fine hair which can feel very brittle at the ends. But, this range really felt as it bulked up my hair and gave it a bit of weight and thickness.

It was easy to style my hair the day after and the sickness really helped to retain the curls in my hair. But I noticed my hair had a more soft texture and felt a lot stronger even after I had styled my hair.

All in all I’m really impressed with this range, it compliments my hair texture very well and made it feel stronger and more deeply conditioned. It did genuinely feel as it it had dome some good to my hair without making it feel weight down with product or greasy. I would say that this would also work very well if your hair is thick or especially curly on account of how hydrating it is.

Have you tried anything from Shea Moisture? Do let me know in the comments.

  1. This looks gorgeous. It’s only recently that my hair has started to be frizzy. It used to be soft and shiny. I might try this! It’s worth a go for sure
