Christmas Gift Guide 2018: Beauty and Lifestyle

23rd November 2018

Festive Greetings Readers!

Today I have the first of two Christmas Gift Guides that I’m going to be sharing with you. Todays gift guide is going to be a beauty and lifestyle Christmas gift guide for 2018.

I thought I’d share them with you now, as it is currently the Black Friday weekend and you may be able to pick these things up for cheaper in the sales. So without further ado, I’ll begin…

The first thing I wanted to talk about is a piece of jewellery from a designer called Charlotte Web. Charlotte’s Web is a jewellery company based in Ibiza and sourced and made in India. Charlotte Web designs a beautiful selection of jewellery all inspired by spirituality, nature and astronomy.

Recently she introduced a new Chakra collection featuring a beautiful selection of Pendants in both silver and gold with adjustable chains. The pendants are also unisex and there are different pendants depending on which chakra you would like to choose. I have the Throat Chakra Silver Pendant which retails for £65 (including a short chain). It has a beautiful turquoise stone in the middle and is an elegant and classic design. It would also be great for people who like to stack necklaces (like myself) Charlotte’s Web is a really beautiful jewellery collection and the other wonderful thing about Charlotte is that she is passionate about ensuring that her workers in India have a fair wage and good living and working conditions.

Next I wanted to briefly mention a book for anyone with a love for crafts.  The book is called Making Winter: A Creative Guide to Surviving the Winter Months by Emma Mitchell.

The book has some lovely, creative ideas for crafts, food and drinks to brighten up the dull Winter months. After Christmas can always seem a bit bleak, so I thought this book would make a great gift for anyone who likes crafts and gets a little blue during the Winter.

Now to move onto the beauty category, I first want to begin by sharing a few of bath and body gift ideas for anyone who likes to pamper themselves.

Firstly I have this gigantic gift set from Rituals which is called the Purifying Ceremony Gift Set. This gift set is beautifully presented in a blue and gold box with a ribbon and inside you get all full sizes of the Hammam Range which is inspired by Turkish Baths. The range has lots of Eucalyptus Oil in it and is a perfect scent for the Winter moths. In this set you get a Foaming Shower Gel, a Body Scrub, a Body Cream, a Black Body Soap, a Body Mud and a Scented Candle. This gif set costs £69, but I got it on offer for £55.

The Hygge Holidays gift set is an all bath gift set featuring the Yog Nog Yule Log Bubble Bar, Plum Pudding Bath Melt and the Perle de Sel Bath Bomb. It’s beautifully wrapped in a rustic themed wrapping paper and retails for £19.95. Perfect for anyone who loves bath products and likes the warm, indulgent spicy smells.

This gift set usually retails for £24, but it’s currently on offer for £24. This is an absolute bargain and would make a great present for anyone who likes pampering gifts.

Next moving onto some skincare gifts, one brand that I think have done a fantastic job with their gift sets this year is Ren. Ren is a skincare brand that do a variety of skincare products that are also cruelty free. Ren have collaborated with Kiki.K and designed some lovely gift sets all inspired by Hygge. The gift sets start from £10 upwards and I have a couple to show you.

The first one is the Dream gift set, which is designed with this beautiful night sky pattern. Inside this gift set you get the Revitalising Night Cream, the No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm and the Pillow Spray. This gift set would make a lovely gift for anyone who you feel needs to take some time out for themselves this festive season. The products are pretty versatile for different skin types so it’s a safe bet if you’re not sure on their exact skin type. This gift set retails for £20, but there are retailers offering it for a cheaper price currently with the Black Friday sales.

Inside you get the Global Protection Day Cream, the Glycol Lactic Mask and the Keep Young and beautiful Face Shot. The products in this gift set are suited to hydrating, plumping and renewing tired and try looking skin which is why it would be great as a gift for someone with more mature skin. The next few items are from a brand called Gordon Castle, Gordon Castle is based in the Scottish Highlands and hosts a huge walled garden. They make all of their gifts on site from beauty, fragrance, food, drink and more. Everything is cruelty free and paraben free.

The first thing is this Travel Mini Set which includes small sizes of their shower gel, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. The second thing from Gordon Castle is a reed diffuser in the scent The Herb Garden. The Herb Garden is a very natural scent made with Thyme and Rosemary, ideal for a kitchen or bathroom fragrance. Reed diffusers make a great gift for anyone who likes fragrance but doesn’t like burning candles especially if they children or animals.

The Herb Garden Diffuser retails for £28 and they also offer the diffuser in other fragrances if you would prefer something different.

I also have one beauty pick for todays gift guide and its the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Palette. This palette has been all over Instagram lately and its such a beautiful, festive palette with some stunning shades. The palette is classically Too Faced with quirky packaging featuring a gingerbread man. In the palette you get 18 shades in a variety of matte and shimmer finishes. The palette has a variety of shades from golds, browns, purples, greens and some more vibrant pink shades. It’s a great palette for anyone who loves eyeshadows and who likes shades that are a little more adventurous.

This palette retails for £39.

Finally, I also have a couple of scented candles to mention, because who doesn’t love a scented candle at Christmas?

IMG_3286

The first one is from Bayliss and Harding and its their Gin and Tonic Scented Candle. It’s an absolutely huge candle for £15, the packaging is also very striking in a rich green colour with a gold lid. The candle has a very fresh lime, citrus scent, perfect for anyone who prefers more citrus scents.

The final thing I wanted to feature in this gift guide is a candle from one of my favourite companies, The White Company. The White Company launch their classic Winter fragrance each year in the form of candles, diffusers and more. I absolutely love the scent as it’s a very classic christmas fragrance with notes of Orange, Clove and Cinnamon. The smaller candles cost £20 which is a little more pricey for a smaller scented candle. But, it’s very luxurious and believe me the scent is incredible. So, if you really want to spoil someone with something extra special and they love candles. I’d definitely recommend this one!

So that concludes todays Christmas Gift Guide, I really hope you enjoyed it and you found it useful. Be sure to follow my blog and check bag soon, as next I’ll be posting an under £15 beauty stocking filler gift guide.
