Pixi Vitamin-C Collection: Review*

Greetings Readers!

Well I must say its been a while since I wrote any blog posts and I am feeling rather perturbed at my procrastinating self. I’ve had lots of ideas for blogs, but simply neither the time or the inclination to be able to write them. A lot has been happening these last couple of months since my last blog post. I’ve had a busy few months with work commitments, I was also on holiday and then I recently experienced a really awful ordeal recently where my guide dog Unity was attacked by a dog when she was on harness. But, she’s getting well on her way back to her old self now and things are looking a little more quiet for me. So I’m making the time to get back into my blog, today I thought I’d join you to review some new skincare launches from Pixi.

Summer is all about the citrus, lemonade in the sunshine, lemon slices in your drinks, oranges, lemon lollies. The Summer is the perfect time to enjoy everything citrus and fruity and even when it comes to skincare. Pixi recently came out with a new Vitamin-C skincare range. The entire range is made with fruit ingredients like Oranges and Lemons to help brighten and exfoliate the skin.

I was recently sent it in a PR release and usually I’m not a massive citrus skincare fan. On account of having sensitive skin, I usually veer away from anything citrus. But I have to say I’ve found some gems in this range and some things that I really enjoyed trying. I also got my mother to test the range out as well and so I thought I’d report my findings.

So let’s get this show on the road!

Pixi Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser

It Contains..

  • Orange Flower Water
  • Ferulic Acid
  • Lemon Peel
  • Grapefruit Peel

The first thing I noticed about this entire range was the scent. All of the products have a really fresh, clean zesty scent which is very refreshing and revitalising to use in the mornings. What I loved about this cleanser was that you don’t even need to use water or a flannel with it. You can simply apply it with a cotton pad or your hands and there no need to rinse it off. You pump out what you need, so you don’t end up wasting excess product. It makes for a quick and easy cleansing routine in the morning and it left my skin feeling fresh and cleansed. It didn’t irritate or sting my skin and it really did lift off the excess oils and dead skin.

I think this would be a great cleanser if you are on the go or if you are someone who likes really quick and easy skincare products to use in the morning.

Pixi Vitamin-C Tonic

It Contains…

  • Willow Bark
  • Probiotics
  • Lemon Peel
  • Orange Peel

This tonic is by far the most clarifying one out of all the Pixi tonics I have used and I’ve used pretty much all of them. If you want a tonic that’s going to really get into the pores and dissolve any oil and lift any dead skin, you should try this one. I used it on cleansed skin and I still found that the cotton pad with a slightly darker shade than it had been. My skin looked visibly clearer and brighter, but it didn’t feel overly drying or stripping to the skin. I’d say it would make a clean toner if you have very oily or congested skin or if you really want to give your skin a thorough cleanse.

Vitamin-C Caviar Balm

It contains…

  • Vitamin-C
  • Shea Butter
  • Orange Flower Water
  • Willow Bark
  • Orange Peel
  • Lemon Peel

This product is designed to act like a leave on mask to give your skin a little boost. It works great to use as a morning moisturiser if you have a little time to let it skin in. It has a really thick texture to it and the hydrating ingredients like the Shea Butter make it very hydrating and nourishing, whilst brightening the skin.

Vitamin-C Lotion

It Contains…

  • Ferulic Acid
  • Orange Flower Water
  • Lactic Acid
  • Willow Bark
  • Orange Peel
  • Lemon Peel

This is a really lightweight feeling moisturiser on the skin, perfect for the hotter Summer weather or if you don’t like anything to heavy on the skin. It skinks into the skin really quickly and leaves it feeling smooth and soft. This has an especially zesty scent and it feel so energising to use in the mornings.

Vitamin-C Serum

It Contains…

  • Glycerine
  • Grapefruit Water
  • Mandarin Oil

This product was definitely my favourite out of everything in the entire Vitamin-C Collection. I’m usually a little afraid of serums because I have combination skin and usually really rich, dense serums tend to cause me to break out in blemishes. But, this one is ideal, the citrus ingredients mean that it’s lightweight on the skin and skins in very quickly. It doesn’t leave a sticky or oily residue on the skin, leaving my skin feeling smooth and fresh. It also has a really delicious Grapefruit scent which is a treat to use in the mornings.

So those are my thoughts on the new Pixi Vitamin-C range. All in all I’d say it’s a great range for anyone with oily or combination skin. It’s very lightweight on the skin and the scent of all of the products is incredible. For me out of all the products I tried my two favourites were the Juice Cleanser and Serum.

Have you tried anything from the Pixi Vitamin-C range yet?

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you all again soon.
