Christmas Gift Guide 2019: The Candle Edition

Greetings Readers!

Today I have another gift guide for my Christmas gift guide series and todays focus is going to be on scented candles.

Scented candles are a great gift idea for anyone who loves their fragrances and who loves to spruce up their home. So today I have my top picks for scented candles that I think would make perfect gifts for someone special this season. I have a range of prices from as little as £6 up to £35 so there’s a variety of different price points to suit your budget.

Parkminster Prodcuts Mandarin Spice Candle

Price: £5.95 (for a small votive)

My first recommendation is from Parkminster Products, this is a a lovely brand where all the candles are made in the UK by hand. They are sold online as well as in a variety of small, independent gift shops in the UK and Europe. They do some gems like Frankincense and Myrrh, Meadow and Noel. But my favourite candle for Christmas is the Mandarin Spice scented candle which is a very spicy, festive blend. This would be perfect for anyone who likes the really spicy, cinnamon scents around Christmas time. They are affordable and would make great stocking filler gifts ideas or even as small secret Santa gifts. They also do the fragrances in room sprays, larger candles and diffusers.

Marks and Spencer Frankincense and Myrrh Candle

Price: £10

This next pick is one of my all time favourite scented candles that I buy every single Christmas without fail. Marks and Spencer (M&S) do some lovely Christmas exclusive candles and home fragrances. But my all time favourite candle they do for Christmas is the Frankiscence and Myrrh scent. This has a really warm and comforting smell, with a sweet undertone with the frankincense. It would make a great candle for anyone who likes those for want of a better word “churchy” scents. The packaging is also very pretty and you can get 35 hours burning time. A large lidded candle is £10 which is pretty good value for your hard earned pound coins.

The White Company Winter Signature Candle

Price: £20

The next candle is a classic for anyone who really loves that classic Christmas spice scent. This candle from The White Company has spicy notes of clove and cinnamon and it really does scent the room very strongly, giving you 33 hours burning time. This would make a lovely gift for anyone who likes a touch of class in their life, the candle also comes in an array of other sizes and home fragrance products.

L’Occitane Relaxing Candle

Price: £20

My next pick is a less traditional Christmas scent, but perfect for those who prefer a more fresher scent. This is a candle from the new Aromathologe range from L’Occitane. The relaxing scent contains floral notes of lavender and geranium with citrus notes of bergamot, orange and mandarin. This would make a beautiful gift to give to someone who loves L’Occitane or who loves more fresher fragrances. The packaging is beautiful with a blue botanical print box and blue and gold detailing. It also comes in a pillow spray and a soap if you want to give them a little extra.

Skandinavisk Hygge Candle

Price: £29

My next recommendation is a beautiful scent for any time of year and is perfect for anyone who likes homely, fresh fragrances. This candle is called Hygge and is inspired by the Danish tradition. This candle contains notes of tea and baked strawberry cake, as well as wild mint. But, for me this candle also has a very fresh clean linen scent to it. To me it just has that beautiful scent of coming home and getting into fresh bedding and drinking tea on a cold day.

Diptyque Blissful Amber Candle

Price: £30

My final pick today is, for me, the epitome of indulgence from Diptyque. Diptyque is a luxury candle and fragrance brand that would make a beautiful gift for anyone who you really want to spoil. Diptyque always launch a selection of seasonal exclusive candles with eye catching artwork. My favourite from this year is the Blissful Amber candle, this candle is a warm and fresh blend of amber, geranium and lavender. It’s both fresh and warm, it has that Christmassy element with the Amber and the more fresher notes with the lavender and geranium. The packaging is stunning in a deep blue colour with a design of a tree, birds, a ladybird, holly, a snake and a horseshoe. The design almost has a stained glass aesthetic to it and it would make such a beautiful gift for anyone who loves Diptyque.

So that brings us to the end of this scented candle Christmas gift guide. I really hope it proved helpful and you got some ideas of any last minute gifts you may be buying.

Let me know in the comments which candle you like the sound of the most and any other candles you would recommend for Christmas gifts.

Until next time.
