Getting Ready for a Night Out with Simply Be *

Greetings Readers!

Welcome back to!

Today I have a very special post for you as it is a collaboration with Simply Be. Now, as of late ever since finishing my Masters Degree, I’ve been enjoying going out and about, meeting up with friends and enjoying evenings out. Something I’ve not had the luxury of doing for a while really. I love going out, I love seeing friends, visiting new places and I love getting ready to go out too. For me I treat my going out routine as a bit of a pamper as well as a chance to try new products and new makeup looks.

I was recently contacted by Simply Be with a challenge, to create a makeup look to accompany and outfit with an item from their new range of going out clothes from dresses, leggings and blouses. So, today I’m going to be sharing with you all my evening look featuring some beauty products that you can find on Simply Be and the outfit I wore too. So, without further adieu lets begin!

To begin with, I started by prepping my skin with a face mask. I personally think face masks are a great way to get your skin looking great for an evening out. Putting on a face mask before your evening out can really help give you a good base before you start with your makeup. For me face mask I went with a sheet mask by the brand Oh K! The mask is from their Luxe Gold range and is called the Gold Dust Hydrogel Mask. This mask has hydrogel to hydrate and nourish the skin and gold dust particles to help give the skin a radiant glow. The mask comes in two sections which you apply to your face and leave on for 10 minutes. So you can sit back and relax, do your nails or catch up on some Netflix whilst you wait for it to do its magic. I personally felt like my skin was very conditioned and smooth after using it. It sinks into the skin very well, although I would recommend massaging the excess product into the skin and leaving it to absorb for about 10 minutes or so.

Next moving onto highlighter, I used the Laura Mercier Candleglow Luminizing Palette. I absolutely love this palette as it has a selection of beautiful highlighter shades that can be used for both the eyes and face. I took the shade Radiance which is a beautiful rose gold shimmer shade on the Spectrum Rainbow Highlighter Brush. This brush is amazing for face highlight and bronzer too as it is a large fan brush and incredibly fluffy so you get a really even distribution of product across the cheekbones.

I then used a selection of Spectrum Eye Brushes combined with my Charlotte Tilbury Vintage Vamp Eyeshadow Palette as well as some of the highlighter shades from the Laura Mercier Candleglow Palette. I used the shade Spark on the lid which is a pink toned shimmer for a little extra shimmer and then Glow which is a pearl, ivory shimmer in the inner corner to open up the eye. This was my first time ever using Spectrum brushes and I have to say I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the brushes, how soft they were and how easy they were to use. They made applying my eyeshadow and blending them so quick and easy and aside from that they are very pretty to look at with the lilac and light pink colour theme.

For lips I wanted to use something a little different, as I tend to go with my usual trademark plum lipsticks or brown toned reds during the Autumn. So I instead used one of the NYX High Voltage Lipsticks in Burlesque. I did of course first outline my lips with a corresponding colour as these lipsticks can bleed a little if you are not careful, so add a little on a lip brush as you go. Burlesque is a great shade for an Autumn evening look, its a red, but it still has that dark vampish undertone that I like for the Autumn time. So, its a good classic red shade, but it still has a bit of a dark undertone if you are not a fan of bright reds like myself. I really love the shade, finding red lipsticks when you have red hair can be a challenge, so to find a bright red that actually suits me is no easy task I can tell you!

So that sums up my makeup look, I would say it’s a little more on the vampish side with the red lipstick and the plum tones on the eyes. Yet, the rose gold highlight and the shimmer on the eyes gives it a little bit more of a twist and stops it from being too intense. I was really impressed with all the  new makeup items I tried when creating this look, especially the brushes. I had no idea that Simply Be stocked so many brands like NYX, Laura Mercier, Spectrum and more.

Now moving onto my outfit, the top I was wearing was from Simply Be. It’s a really Autumnal blouse that you can easily style for a night out or for more of a daytime look with the right accessories. The top is a cap sleeved loose fitting top in a burgundy shade,  it has a flower pattern to it in colours of burnt orange and pink. The flowers are quite widely spaced out, so it looks sophisticated with that touch of Autumn that I love. The colours were what drew me to it straight away with its flattering cut and breathable material.

I then paired it with some dark wash skinny jeans from Next, a pair of dark brown heeled boots. As this was a night out look I wanted it to have a little height.

I also added to the top a burnt orange blazer which I bought from H&M a few years ago, but the colour matched the colour of the flowers on the top perfectly. So it all tied in very nicely and created a very Autumnal colour scheme.

For accessories I added my rose gold watch from Michael Kors, my rose gold moon and star ring from Coconut Lane and a copper leaf pendant which I got from Spitalfields Market. I wanted my jewellery to be warm toned so I went with copper and rose gold tones to match the colours of my attire.

Finally my bag is an oldie but a goodie, its my trusty Heidi Sturgess burnt orange leather clutch bag with the gold chain strap and black fox shaped buckle. I always get this bag out towards the Autumn months, I love the colour, the practicality and the style of it. It has pretty much become my Autumn staple.

So that was my outfit for the evening. But Simply Be offers lots of different outfits to get you ready for your night out in a variety of sizes and styles. Click here to view other tops that Simply Be has to offer.

I then headed out with my friend Glen to Shoreditch. We tried out the Redemption Bar which I had been wanting to visit for ages. It’s a Plant Based, Sugar Free, Gluten Free and Wheat Free menu, all of their food is made to ensure you get all of your nutrients but to satisfy your cravings. They also have a menu of delicious mocktails, I had two over the course of the evening and they were amazing! I would defiantly recommend it if you are in the area.

That’s it for my blog post today, I really hope you all enjoyed. Let me know what your go to look is for your night out or where you love to go for a night out. Thank you so much for reading this blog today, be sure to like, comment and follow my blog for future posts.
