Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Palette Review

1st August 2018

Greetings Readers!

Happy August! The sun is shining and we have another month of Summer just waiting to be enjoyed and nothing says summer like some summer eye-makeup!

Today I’m going to be giving you a little review of the Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Palette which has been a current Summer favourite of mine. For more makeup from the brand, see my Urban Decay Naked Heat palette review and swatches.

I was gifted this palette for my birthday back in June from my lovely mum and today I thought I’d give you some of my thoughts on it.

I mean can we all just begin my admiring the packaging? The packaging has this beautiful tropical design of palm trees against a Summer sky. The palette itself has 8 beautiful shades in a combination of warm copper shades and shimmering turquoises. The colours are very much reminiscent of the hot sun, golden sands and blue surfs of the ea. Just looking at the colours makes me want to spent a day at the beach!

This palette has mostly shimmer shades, with the acceptation of Daybreak and Salt which are both matte. So this is definitely a palette for those of you who like a little shimmer on the eye. Although the mattes do mean that you could take this palette on holiday and would be able to create a look out of this palette easily.

I’ve been really impressed with these shadows, as Urban Decay eyeshadows go they are very easy to apply, buttery to the touch, they blend really easily and there isn’t any fallout. Although I do have to be a bit more subtle with the turquoise shades and build them up, as if you are too liberal with turquoise shades on the eye they can look a little overkill. I tend to apply the turquoise blue shades (Double Dip and Plunge) to the outer corner of my eye for a little definition. They really work well against the orange and copper shades to really contrast for a striking eye makeup look.

Personally, I think this palette has been really well thought out for the Summer, the colours really work well with each other and there isn’t one single shade that I haven’t worn in this palette. This would be a great holiday palette, but equally I could see myself wearing a lot of these shades during the Autumn seasons (especially the coppers and burnt oranges).
