Wecome back to fashioneyesta,com with a very special and long anticipated Loobkook, now with the Autumnal Equinox fast approaching i thought it was high time to showcase my annual lookbook for you all.
Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, for it is one of the seasons that never ceases to beguile and enchant me with its many colours, scents, sounds and sights and I love to reflect it through what I wear during this very beautiful season. But, this year my Autumn Lookbook was made even more special for me due to the fact that one of the biggest trends this year for Autumn/Winter is on fairytale and folklore inspired fashion.
So, my dears come with me and let me be your Fairy Godmother and whisk you away to a magical fashion world where you can be whatever you want to be…well within reason.
With a tap of my fingers on the key board I will transform you into a fairytale fashion icon all ready to face the upcoming Autumn season.
What Is Folklore Fashion?
Folklore and Fairytale fashion is one of the upcoming trends for Autumn/Winter 2014 and it was a trend that was kick started by fashion house Dolce & Gabanna with a flurry of beautiful prints, gem like colours, fur hoods and patterns.
Others are calling it fairytale or mythical, but its intrinsic meaning is still the same it is a look inspired by storytelling, traditions and the combination of tradition in the routes of embroidery and ethnic prints represents this aspect of oral culture that has been present in our history for centuries.
The trend is all about inspiring art, beauty and a touch of Bohemianism into the look but in a more fairytale like manner.
How To Achieve It
Here are some of my top tips for how to achieve the look
Prints: Go for a lot of prints inspired by ethnic routes, tribal origins, nature and whimsical design.
Faux Fur: A lot of the trendย incorporates faux fur items, faux fur is a great way of creating a timeless look. But when pairedย with the right garments can also create a look that screams fairytale princess. So go for faux fur coats, scarfs,ย filets and hats to recreate this look.
Movement: Go for clothing that has a flow of movement and flow to it. What i mean by this is, clothing items such as capes, big skirts, flowing dresses, jumpsuits and faux fur fillets to create the look.
Colours: Go for bright gem coloured shades such as ruby red, jade green, deep purples, golds, ambers and blacks.
A touch of whimsical: Whimsical animals are also a key feature of this years trend, so think cute squirrels, wandering deers, roaming wolves, wild foxes and larking birds for this look.
Winter Florals: A lot of beautiful floral prints are being used for this look such as roses, climbing flowers, ivy, poppies and pansies. Flowers that are in deep winter colours and stand out against darker shapes like burgundy, jade green and black.
Materials: Materials such as wool, faux fur, velvet, velour and silk are prominent aspects of the trend. When buying clothes in a shop trace your hand across the garment and assess whether or not it will feel clingy when you wear it. Try it on just to be sure, after all this is a look that is not conventional and it is all about embracing your free spirit
Just remember, this is a look designed to make you feel special and the clothing should have a touch of that magic charm that you don’t see every day.

Look One: Little Red Riding Hood
Yes, one of my key look for this autumn season is inspired by the classic Fairy Tale little red riding hood. This is due to the fact that the look incorporates aspects of the current folklore trend such as capes, drapery and faux fur.
But, never fear my dear readers no dark and mysterious Wolf with invidious intent came bounding from the tree line during the shoot (thats what Guide Dogs are for.)
