Changing Perceptions on Sight Loss in Style
Today’s blog post is going to be the last instalment in my trilogy of Charlotte Tilbury reviews that I have been doing on my blog this week.

Today I’m going to be talking about the Bar of Gold Highlighter Palette. A few years ago Charlotte Tilbury brought out a Bar of Gold Highlighter and it is honestly my categorically most work highlighter of all time. I featured it in a previous blog and it even made my top highlighters podcast over on my podcast channel Fashionability.
Then it was discontinued and a part of my soul died! But then Charlotte Tilbury launched The Bar of Gold Highlighter palette and it returned. The highlighter palette features the classic bar of gold shade, as well as a rose gold shade and a bronze toned shade.
The aesthetic of this palette is stunning, featuring the 3 shades which have actually been made to look like actual bars of gold. It also has a large mirror inside, making it convenient for travel.
Original Gold: A light slightly yellow toned gold.
Rose Gold: A soft blush pink toned gold.
Gold Bullion: A true bronze gold.
The formula of these highlighters has to be one of my favourite that I’ve tried. I really like highlighters that give my skin luminosity, without making me look to glittery. These highlighters do fit that description, they are very finely milled and really blend into the skin to give me a beautiful glow.
They are so easy to apply, the formula has never made me look textured or cakey and it’s so flattering on the skin. It gives the right amount of glow without looking to instense, it’s such a well made highlighter.
I love the original gold shade for most occasions, the rose gold shade is suited for when I’m wearing more cool or pink tones and the gold bullion shade I think I’d wear when I have tan particularly in the Summer months. The bullion shade would look incredible on darker skin tones, however if, like me, you are more pale I’d probably wear this shade on my eyes unless I was more tanned.
In the picture below I’m wearing the rose gold shade from the palette which really gave me a fresh-faced look to my makeup and really helped to brighten my skin tone.
I’ve been madly in love with the original highlighter for so many years and I’m delighted that Charlotte Tilbury has expanded on the original formula with more shades. I do hope that she brings out more in this forum maybe in some more iridescent shades in the future. But, for now this palette has some beautiful gold toned shades to give you a little glow.
If you are ever going to try any high-end highlighters on account of my recommendations, I’d definitely recommend this palette. It is a little more pricey for sure, but that’s what birthdays are for!
