Maxing it Up with Boohoo: Transitional Style *

24th September 2018

Greetings Readers!

Welcome back to Fashioneyesta!

Today I wanted to talk about something I have always found a to be a genuine source of fustration and confusion, transitional fashion. You know it’s that time of year where it isnt quite hot or cold and you’re sifting through your wardrobe, scratching your head, not quite sure what to wear. Am I right? For practical advice on choosing clothes, read about how I shop as a legally blind person.

The Autumnal Equinox officially arrived last week and now we are heading towards a new season. But, its only the beginning of Autumn, the days are still bright and the harsh bite of the cold hasn’t yet fully come to pass.

I find Maxi dresses to be an ideal option to wear whilst we are still in that “seasonal shift” as the two seasons are exchanging roles and Summer officially hands the reigns to Autumn. Maxi dresses are ideal because you can add a jacket and some flats like a pair of converse or espadrilles and even a scarf on more blustery days. Or dress them up with some heels and jewelery for an evening. But equally once the warmer weather returns next year you can adorn them once more.

Luckily Boohoo have a really wide selection of Maxi dresses at the moment for all different sizes from petite, tall, curve and maternity. So whether you are looking for a casual day dress or a party dress for an evening out there is so much choice.

The dress I am wearing is a casual grey racer back dress with ruched detailing to the skirt. It’s a very simple dress, but for this time of year when your switching with colours and accessories it’s a real capsule piece. I paired the dress with my beloved cropped denim jacket whilst the weather is forgiving. I also wore a pair of white converse for a more casual look, maxi dresses and converse are one of my favourite combinations especially for this time of year. I added some mustard accessories to add a splash of Autumn, I wore a mustard colour tiger print scarf and a pair of mustard tassel earrings to match. Finally, I also wore a gold moon and star statement ring, to tie in the mustard accessories. The fluffy creature by the name of Unity in this photo is of course from guide dogs.

Boohoo have a great selection of Maxi dresses from basic styles that you could wear with converse and a jacket to more dressy maxi dresses for an evening look. So if you want a transitional piece to see you through the beginning of Autumn I would definitely suggest investing in a maxi dress.
