Greetings Readers!

Today I’m going to be sharing a review of my recent massage experience at the Massage Company.

I was invited to try out a massage session with them and being that I haven’t had a massage since before Covid. I felt that it was high time to give my aching body some much needed attention.

My Massage Experience

When I first arrived at their Putney branch which is located in the Putney Exchange I was asked to fill out a form to include my medical history and areas I was experiencing pain or tension. For what I hoped to get out of the experience for my therapist to review.

After waiting for a short time I was greeted by my very friendly and welcoming therapist, Hazel. She assisted me into the therapy room which was very cosy and relaxing. She went through my form and asked which areas I was experiences issues with and any pain I was experiences.

I was booked in for a 60 minute full body classic massage to help combat the pain I had in my shoulders and back from the many months of being hunched over a laptop.

After a chat about my issues with back pain and having an under-active thyroid which can interfere with my lymphatic drainage. She then discussed what she was going to do and allowed me to pick another 2 add-ons with my invitational treatment.

I elected to add aromatherapy and hot stones into my treatment. It was a rather wet and rainy day that day and I felt the inclusion of hot stones would feel like bliss.

For my aromatherapy fragrance I chose a blend which included relaxing Frankincense, the therapist showed me where to place my belongings and stepped outside and allowed me some time to get undressed.

For this massage you will need to strip down to your underwear for the massage. Once I was ready my therapist came back into the room to begin my treatment.

The massage was a very relaxing session with soothing soundscapes, the colourful glow of the diffuser and the scent of frankincense. I was very comfortable underneath a weighted blanked with cushions to support my legs for the massage.

The massage was an combination of gliding motions and targeted pressure to combat the knots and tension I was experiencing. The hot stones were also additionally used to target tension by placing them on particular areas where tightness could be felt.

What I really liked about this treatment was the approach they take to massage. For the Massage Company, massages aren’t just a luxury thing to have once in a while. They are an important part of maintaining health and wellbeing in the body to promote a better way of life.

The therapist really listened to my issues and tailored them into the massage. Even though the treatment was a full body massage, you could really tell that a little extra attention was placed on the back and around the shoulder and middle of my back where I had expressed feeling pain.

I walked out of there with a new lease of life, the tension in my back felt considerably better and I just felt a lot better in myself physically and mentally.

It was all I could do to get on the train home and enjoy a hot bath and a relaxing afternoon to truly get the most out of the experience.

The merit in this approach to massage is that by having a subscription or being a regular user, you can really have a plan that works for you. You can hone in on areas you need to work on and the approach becomes a lot more tailored to you and your personal needs.

Their Disability Accessibility

This particular branch is step free access, it’s located on the 1st floor which is accessible via lift. It’s all one level, the waiting room and therapy rooms are natural and relaxing.

The staff were very friendly and offered to assist me in filling it out, they also provided me with chilled water and orientated me around the waiting room.

They brought my guide dog Rosie some water and all in all made my experience as a visually impaired visitor very welcoming.

All in all, I really enjoyed this massage and the way it targeted my specific issues. I would highly recommend you give them a go. With their approach to massage and how it adds to physical health they really are a company I can trust to get the most out of a massage session.
