Some Sensitive Skincare Staples from Temple Spa*

6th March 2021

Greetings Readers!

Finding “the right” skincare staples can be a really hard one to pin down. I mean there are just so many products to choose from.

What’s the best ingredients for your needs? Does this moisturiser contain those ingredients? Is it suitable for my skin type?

In truth, over the years I’ve found it really hard, I’ve overcomplicated my skincare routine and used products that irritated my sensitive skin. Over the last few months I’ve really practiced minimising my skincare routine and I’ve really noticed a difference. My skin isn’t anywhere near as prone to breakouts and it looks so much clearer.

I’ve recently been trying 3 products featured in the My Kinda Skin Sensitive Skin Essentials set from Temple Spa and I thought I’d give them an honorary mention.

Temple Spa is a really lovely brand that offer a range of skincare and bath and body products. Their products are cruelty free, paraben-free and SLS free. They also have products that are Vegan friendly too.

The Sensitive Skin Essentials gift set.

Recently they came out with the My Kinda Skin sets which feature 3 products tailored to different skin needs.

These are…

Combination Skin Essentials

Dry Skin Essentials

Oily Skin Essentials

Normal Skin Essentials

Sensitive Skin Essentials

Having sensitive skin, my skin is more prone to redness and very aggravated breakouts. These are the type that don’t do well with having lots of harsh topical products smeared on them in a bid to try and get rid of them.

The Sensitive Skin Essentials gift set retails for £65 and includes 3 products which comes in a wash bag.

What’s Inside?

Be Gone Face Cleanser for Sensitive Skin (£21)

This cleansing cream works really well for removing makeup and SPF or as a gentle evening cleanser. It contains a mix of soothing ingredients like Vitamin A and E along with aubergine, apricot and liquorice and basil that act as a prebiotic for the skin. Over the last year I certainly feel that prebiotic skincare has become a growing trend. But this is a product I can actually get behind. Whenever I use it my skin always feels clean and smooth without feeling stripped or dry. The cream consistency is really pleasant and makes it a very versatile cleanser. I either use it as a makeup remover or as a soothing cleanser on it’s own if my skin is feeling particularly dry.

Alcohol Free Toning Essence (£16)

This product has become a staple for me since I started using it. The first thing I noticed was the smell, instantly the most beautiful aroma hits you when you spray it onto your face. It contains tomato, lemon, orange, melon, rosemary, basil, mandarin, lime and ginger. The scent really does, for me, evoke memories of Summer and it is such an uplifting scent to use in the morning. Because this toner is alcohol free I find that I can either use this as a toner before moisturising or as a refreshing facial spritz. It feels so cooling on the skin without feeling that its drying out my skin. I’ve always used alcohol based toners, but since using this I’ve noticed that my ski looks and feels a lot more healthier.

Be Still Face Moisturiser for Sensitive Skin (£38)

Finally to complete the routine there is of course a moisturiser. This moisturiser has the same ingredients as the Be Gone cleansing cream. Making it feel very soothing and comforting on the skin. One point I will make about this is the way it absorbs into the skin. When you first apply it it feels slightly tacky. You need to give it a few minutes to absorb into the skin before you apply any skincare or base products. But once it has sunk into the skin it does leave it feeling really smooth. It also works well if your skin feels particularly irritated or dry. I always use it on a windy day when I’m going out in the elements and I want something to act as a barrier between my skin and the elements.

These gift sets would make great gifts for Mothers Day or as a birthday gift. Or as a treat to yourself if you are looking for some new products to try.

Which essentials set would you try?
