Changing Perceptions on Sight Loss in Style
So, hands up who’s hands are feeling more than a little bit worse for wear at the moment? Pretty much everyone?
We all know just how vitally important it is to keep our hands thoroughly clean, especially at this current time. I’ve lost count of how many times I wash my hands in a day. But with those countless hand washing sessions, it’s safe to say the skin on my hands often feels dry, flaky and irritated.
So today I wanted to share some of my favourite handcart products to help hydrate and soothe dry hands.
L’Occitane Almonde Delicious Hands
When it comes to hand creams, nobody does them better than L’Occitane. L’Occitane hand creams are known for their rich texture and how deep hydrating they are. For ultimate hydration I always opt for the Almonde hand cream, almond is great for locking in moisture. This cream works well in conjunction with some moisture hand gloves used overnight to give my dry hands a moisture boost.
Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen Hand Cream
For those of you with more mature skin and who are concerned with battling signs of ageing, Algenist have you covered! They have developed a vegan friendly collagen based hand cream to help combat signs of ageing. This cream has a slightly lighter texture, it skins in more quickly and is more easily absorbed into the skin. Its packed with some skin benefiting ingredients like glycerin, shea butter, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. I really like to use this hand cream in the morning or when I just want a quick fix that won’t leave any residue on my skin.
Burt’s Bees Orange Blossom and Pistachio Hand Cream
For those of you who want a hand cream with a delicious scent, this hand cream from Burt’s Bees is one of my absolute favourites. The combination of sweet pistachio and orange blossom gives it a sweet, yet floral scent. The scent almost reminds me of a luxury macaroon. Burt’s Bees hand creams are incredibly hydrating and they have a rich and buttery texture.
Think the cruelty free, vegan friendly version of vaseline and in my opinion, this does a much better job! This ultra nourishing all purpose balm can be used for a variety of things from hands, nails and lips. It works very well for dry patches of skin or where the skin is starting to crack. I use it on my knuckles and cuticles at night just before going to bed to spot target areas of dry skin.
It comes in a variety of scents and retails for around £2.
L’Occitane The Petit Remedy Balm
Finally, the last product I wanted to give an honourable mention to is the Petit Remedy from L’Occitane. This is an all purpose balm. However it has a lighter texture than the Purple Tree Balm. So in that sense the Petit Remedy works better as an everyday balm to pop on dry skin. It’s made with shea butter, almond oil and olive oil to nourish the skin. It also contains lavender and immortelle essential oil to give it that floral scent. This balm forms a productive barrier on the skin and works very well for areas that are particularly dry and brittle. I apply a small amount of this to the cuticles, the knuckle and the nail beds.
So there you have it, those are my top hand care recommendations to get you through these next few months of arduous hand washing.
