A guide to some of my top rated cruelty free skincare products to use if you have combination skin like me.
If there’s one thing I love in life, its skincare.
Today I’m going to be sharing some of my most favourite skincare products that are also cruelty free if, like me you have combination skin that doesn’t really know what it wants to do.

If you like rich, indulgent oil cleansers and the scent of fresh roses, you simply must try this Wild Rose Balm from Neal’s Yard Remedies.
This balm is packed with skin benefiting ingredients including Rosehip Oil and Geranium Seed Oil, Rosehip is is a great ingredient for irritated, dry and red skin.
It helps to reduce redness and also works well for a things like acne scaring on account of its high in Vitamin A, B and, C.
This cleanser is definitely more suited to more dryer combination skin, I wouldn’t use it on days where my skin is feeling more oily because it is very rich.
I’d also recommend using a second cleanser to wash of the excess oils if you’re prone to breaking out quite easily, but honestly for dry skin its a dream.

I often find that facial scrubs are something that I have had trials and tribulations with as a combination skin girl.
Temple Spa’s the Breakfast Smoothie scrub is a good, gentle and cream exfoliator which I use in my daily skincare routine.
It contains oatmeal which reduces inflammation, as well as jojoba oil which is a balancing oil with the same molecular structure as the skins natural oil.
It also contains strawberry and papaya giving it a sweet, fruity scent, its definitely not a very gritty scrub if you want something more grainy.
However, if you can’t hack very thick and scratchy exfoliators this is a great alternative which is very easy on the skin.

Hyaluronic Acid is a must-have ingredient for combination skin because it hydrates it without being too heavy and clogging the pores.
Although pure Hyaluronic Acids are ten a penny these days, the one from The Ordinary tends to be my go-to because its non sticky and the B5 it contains help to plump the skin.
I always layer it up with other serums before applying skin cream and the oil absorbs well so it doesn’t make my other products collect in those little annoying balls of product.
It’s basically a no-fuss, does what it says on the tin product and its one I cannot live without.

Having combination skin that can sometimes get a little drier and more irritated, Retinol is something I’ve really struggled with getting into.
However as my late 20s continues to mercilessly process I am conscious my skin needs to be slathered in every anti-aging and youth retaining product known to man.
Now, I finally found a retinol I actually like and that my skin can tolerate without getting red and irritated.
Sunday Riley’s A + High Does Retinoid Serum is a 6.5 percentage does of Retinol containing ingredients like Hawaiin white honey, bisabolol, cactus extract and ginger to help soothe the skin.
I use it twice a week before bed and I’ve found that it’s really improved my skin, prevented breakouts and made my skin a lot clearer.
However, one word of caution, you should never use retinols at night without using an SPF in the daytime.

Leaning on the more anti-aging and hydrating side, this one may not exactly be just for combination skin.
But I simply had to mention my current favourite eye cream from Temple Spa which is a really hydrating and indulgent eye cream without feeling too thick on under eye area.
It contains peptides which help to smooth and hydrate the skin and since using this I don’t feel that my under eye area looks as puffy as it once did.

One key ingredient for your skincare routine is Vitamin C, but when I’ve used it alone in things like serums and treatments it can often leave my skin feeling itchy and tight.
I started using the CEO Afterglow cream from Sunday Riley and found that it gave my skin that luminosity that Vitamin C gives without irritating my skin.
It also has the most incredible skin with a real citrus kick and its such a lovely product to apply in the morning, its hydrating without being too rich and honestly I love it.

The Marula Oil from Drunk Elephant definitely one of the more luxury items I have in my skincare collection, dating back to when I interned as Cosmopolitain and had access to the incredibly beauty cupboard!
But honestly, this is just one of those products that I look forward to applying at night.
It’s rich in fatty acids making it a good option for those with dry, ageing and even acne prone skin as it helps to restore and soothe the skin.
I alternate my face oils swapping between this, Squalene and Rosehip Oil and Marula oil is always the one I use when my skin is feeling more dry and irritated.
This product is also rated by former Bridgerton star – Phoebe Dynevor who’s makeup artist used it heavily during shooting.
