I went to the Superbloom at the Tower of London and this is how accessible it is…
Summer is now here and many of us are probably looking for fun and relatively inexpensive things to get up to this month.
If you live in London or are planning a trip to London then I’ve got a great idea for a great idea for an enjoyable day out in London.

If you like flowers and history then the Superbloom at the Tower of London is a beautiful place to visit that is widely accessible for different disabilities.
To mark the Queens Platinum Jubilee, the Tower of London have turned the moat into a colourful wildflower garden abundant with seasonal blooms.
Up until September 18th you can walk through a winding pathway and spend time in this makeshift flower meadow.
It’s a great place to get some photos and enjoy the scenery and you can also book tickets to the tower itself along with your Superbloom.
It’s a one way system, but there are many smaller paths leading off the main one if you want to take some time to properly look and take photos.

There are also many viewing spaces where you can get photos and see the meadow in it’s full glory with a view of the tower behind.
I really enjoyed this experience and the wide variety of flowers on show which offer a real sensory experience. The pathways are very wide giving me and my guide dog and there are staff on hand to tell you more about Superbloom and flowers on display.

There’s also a slide you can go on too (but this is optional).
Tickets cost £12 for an adult, £10 for a concession and £6 for a child.
You can access Superbloom from Tower Gateway DLR which has step-free access to the platforms.
One carer goes free to the event and more can be booked by emailing in advance.
If you have mobility issues you can access the mote by ramps in and out and the entire pathway is step free and on one level. There are also benches situated all along the pathway.
If you are visually impaired they offer an audio guide on their website and you can also book descriptive tours on selected days.
If you are neurodivergent you can book a quiet tour in the mornings before busy times which you can book on selected days.

It’s definitely a lovely way to spend a few hours and see the tower from a different angle.
Until next time!
