Looking for something fun and a little different t

Looking for something fun and a little different to do in London? You have to visit @thepostalmuseum

This unique museum explores more than 500 years of British postal history, with fascinating artefacts, interactive exhibits, sound installations and stories about the people who helped keep the country connected. ✉️📬

One of the highlights is riding Mail Rail, the underground railway that transported post beneath London from 1927 until 2003. Travelling through the original tunnels in a tiny train is such a fun and unusual experience! 🚇

They currently have an immersive exhibition celebrating 40 years of The Jolly Postman, open until January 2027. As someone who remembers reading the books, this was such a nostalgic treat and an absolute must for fellow children’s literature fans. 📚💌

♿️ Accessibility

I was really impressed by how accessible the museum was for me as a visually impaired visitor. They offer:

🎧 Bookable audio-described tours for blind and visually impaired visitors
🔊 Audio guides to explore the galleries
🔎 Large-print guides throughout the exhibitions
🦮 Assistance-dog access

It is genuinely one of the most accessible museums I have visited, and the combination of sounds, stories and interactive elements made it a brilliant sensory experience.

🚇 Chancery Lane and Farringdon are both around a 12-minute walk away
♿️ Farringdon is the nearest step-free station
🕙 Open Tuesday–Sunday, 10am–5pm

Food & Theatre 🎭🍴

I’m starting a new series combining two of my favourite things: delicious food and a trip to the theatre! What better way to begin than with dinner at Browns followed by Avenue Q?

🍽️ Browns Brasserie & Bar, Covent Garden — PR invite

We visited Browns to try its new Taste of Summer menu, and the food was absolutely delicious. The menu includes seasonal dishes such as burrata with Isle of Wight tomatoes, sticky hot honey chicken, pan-seared duck breast, chicken schnitzel, sesame tuna Niçoise salad and moules frites. For dessert, there’s everything from elderflower and lemon posset to British strawberry and basil Eton mess.

The summer cocktails were also a highlight, especially the raspberry Bellini, Pimm’s Spritz, strawberries and cream martini and cherry margarita. 🍓🍸

I also loved the wonderfully opulent interiors. Browns is housed inside the Grade II-listed former Westminster County Court, and the grand architecture gives the restaurant so much character.

🎭 Avenue Q at the Shaftesbury Theatre — PR invite

After dinner, we headed to the Shaftesbury Theatre to see the return of Avenue Q to the West End after two decades.

The show was absolutely hilarious, with so much relatable humour, brilliantly chaotic puppets and ridiculously catchy songs. It manages to be outrageous, surprisingly heartfelt and painfully accurate about the struggles of navigating adulthood.

Avenue Q is currently booking at the Shaftesbury Theatre until 3 January 2027, with tickets starting from £25. The show runs for approximately two hours and 15 minutes, including an interval, and is recommended for ages 13+ due to strong language and adult themes.

I haven’t visited Bluewater much in recent years, but this birthday day out with my friend has definitely made me want to go back more often. We packed shopping, adrenaline and far too much food into one very fun day! 🎂✨

🪂 First stop: @hanglooseadventure Bluewater — PR invite

We started with the outdoor skydive experience, where a powerful wind tunnel gives you the sensation of freefall without having to jump out of a plane. The wind can reach speeds of up to 120mph, and an instructor stays with you throughout the flight. It was much harder than it looked, but such a unique experience! 😂

Then we took on the Skywire, England’s longest zipline. It stretches for more than 700 metres and can reach speeds of up to 60mph as you fly across the Bluewater quarry. This was definitely our favourite activity of the day—it was exhilarating without being quite as terrifying as I expected! 🪽

After all that adrenaline, we were more than ready for food—and we may have ordered enough to feed a small army. 🙈

I’ll be honest, I hadn’t visited TGI Fridays in years, but this meal reminded me how much I love it. The cocktails were delicious, the food absolutely slapped, and despite claiming we had ordered far too much, we somehow managed to finish almost everything! 🍗🍟🍹

You’ll find TGI Fridays at Water Circus inside Bluewater Shopping Centre, making it an easy stop after shopping or an adventure at Hangloose.

I’m getting back into my accessibility beauty reviews, and I’m starting with the new @pixibeauty LiquidGlow Blushes. These were PR gifted, and I’ve been testing how they work for me as a visually impaired beauty lover. 💗

The shades are:

🌸 Subtly – natural pink
🌷 Pretty – soft pink
🍑 Fresh – vibrant coral
🌹 Peony – pretty rose
☀️ Warmth – warm peachy nude
✨ Summer – bronzed glow

What I loved:

✅ Easy for me to open
✅ Simple to apply
✅ Really easy to blend
✅ Natural, glowy finish without chunky glitter
✅ Lightweight and buildable
✅ I loved the tactile embossed Pixi stamp on the top, which gives the packaging a little bit of texture

Accessibility thoughts:

As someone who is visually impaired, packaging really does make a difference. I found these easy to use and apply, especially because the formula blends out beautifully and doesn’t need too much precision.

My only issue is that some of the shades could be quite easy to mix up, especially if you can’t easily see the colour through the packaging. I’d also love the shade names to be printed in larger text to make them easier to read.

Overall, I think these are beautiful, fuss-free liquid blushes, and I really enjoyed using them. 💕

Yes, I might be in my 30s, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still love a bit of childhood nostalgia. Pooh Bear will always have my heart.

🍝 Dinner at Harry’s Covent Garden

We visited @harrysdolcevita in Covent Garden to try their food, and it is such a stunning Italian restaurant.

The absolute highlight for me had to be the iconic toadstool dessert. It was almost too pretty to eat… almost.

🕯️ Bridgerton Candelabra Concert

I attended a Bridgerton-inspired concert with @candelabra_concerts in a beautiful historic church in Beckenham.

The whole venue was decorated with candlelight, flowers and all the trimmings, while a string quartet played some of the most iconic songs from the series.

Of course, I had to get dressed up for the occasion in my favourite Regency-style dress from @lacemadeofficial. Dearest gentle reader, I was fully committed.

🍫 Dinner at Browns Brasserie

I was invited to try the new spring menu at @brownsbrasserie, which had some absolute gems.

Browns is honestly one of my all-time favourite restaurants to visit, and I loved everything, especially the chocolate tart with blackberry sorbet.

🎭 Avenue Q

I also went to see @avenueqonstage, and I have to say it was absolutely hilarious.

I went in not knowing what to expect, but it was a proper belter of an adult comedy, full of relatable topics, chaotic humour and jokes about what it really means to be an adult.

It was such a fun evening and the perfect way to round off my birthday celebrations.

Feeling very grateful for a birthday filled with food, theatre, music and a little bit of magic ✨
